Say it isn’t so…Summer 2019 flying by!

How can it already be late August? But sadly it is and all signs point to back to school next week! It has been a very full summer however and I thought I’d share a dress that was perfect for a recent weekend visit to our dear daughter in Queens/Brooklyn NYC.  The weather has been so hot and humid here and this sundress, based on McCalls 7405 with one addition and one modification, was perfect for that sweltering day! The 100% cotton border print fabric came from Metro Textiles NYC. I added pockets from The Bondi Dress, by Tessuti Fabrics pattern. I love that pocket! It’s sewn to the wrong side of the dress front. A brilliant pocket design: it won’t flap around the inside the dress like a regular on- seam pocket could. Also I dropped the armhole to allow for comfort and ease. Underneath, I wore a cute lacey cami Coobie bra.

There’s a little opening at the center back neckline where you tie a lil bow. I loved this dress so much I made it twice! I’ll post the second version soon.

Thanks to daughter T for a great weekend and for taking these photos as we strolled through Prospect Park in Brooklyn.
