Artful Valentines

I have made many garlands: with different kinds of cloth, ribbons and trims. But here’s a simple little paper garland inspired by the Art Girlz. This cutie was made by using several different decorative card stock weight papers and a heart shaped paper punch. I machine stitched the hearts chain style and voila, a sweet touch to the vanity mirror!

This vintage heart was made at the Art Girlz Winter Retreat I attended in January. Sandwiching hand pressed Queen Ann’s Lace and Violets, thanks Linda, between two layers of glassine paper and ironing them. Next I stitched all around the composition in a heart shape leaving long threads at both ends, at the V part of the heart to hang the piece. It’s so old world! I hung this on the dresser mirror as my Valentine to my hubby!

Here I did a little stitching with embroidery floss on pieces of my hand dyed quilted muslin. I will seam up the sides and bottom and will be a great zippered pouch for holding pens for lettering.

Still in love with painting and lettering with watercolor on luscious, heavy, cold press watercolor paper. Did an all over design that I cut up for Valentine cards n tags.

Happy Valentines Day everyone!
How did you artfully celebrate?!
